Producing Practice
Malachy is the Producer for the renowned new-writing venue, Theatre503. He is responsible for producing, co-producing and programming productions, as well as leading on marketing strategy and providing artist development & dramaturgical support across the organisation’s various strands of work.
Prior to this role he was the Producing Assistant for the internationally-renowned physical theatre company Gecko where he supported the producing and delivery of their productions, tours and projects. Most notably, he assistant produced the UK-wide tours and National Theatre run of their acclaimed production, Kin.
Prior to Gecko, Malachy was the Production and Programme Assistant at Norfolk and Norwich Festival where he supported the delivery of work by leading companies including Blast Theory, Far From The Norm, The Place, and Fuel Theatre.
Malachy’s experience spans a wide range of art forms, from large-scale productions to intimate, experimental projects, working for venues, festivals and artistic companies in producing departments, giving him a broad range of skills as a producer. In addition to this, he has particular expertise in dramaturgy and marketing and is currently supporting Gecko in a freelance capacity as their Marketing & Social Media Coordinator.

Malachy has been working in producing for organisations for many years and is open to applying his skills to working independently on projects that excite him. He is drawn to work that is subversive, evocative and political – work that has something to say.
With a passion for talent development, his producing style is people focussed, and with a background in supporting the creation and delivery of innovative and ambitious work, he has a strong grasp of theatre craft, dramaturgy and production.
Malachy is open to discussing projects with artists, though his time is very limited so he's selective with any additional work he takes on. He is also open to limited freelance marketing, photography and filmmaking work that can fit around his full-time role with Theatre503 and other freelance responsibilities, as well as mentoring and consultation.
