Bio

I am an award-winning Producer, Playwright, and Director with over 20 years of experience working in theatre, circus, cabaret, and comedy in the UK and internationally. Under the trading name, Rhymes with Purple, I specialise in producing for artists and companies working in theatre, circus, comedy, & dance with particular focus on mentoring international and UK companies making their first appearance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. As a Festivals & Events Manager, I have led projects all over the world from intimate cabarets and boutique performances to touring circus, theatre, nightclubs, awards ceremonies, charity spectaculars, and corporate events. I programmed and managed ‘The Cabaret Tent’ for Scotland’s largest music festival, T in the Park and, for 5 years, was General Manager of The Kelburn Garden Party, the UK’s best small music and arts festival which hosts 6,500 attendees every July at an historic estate on the West Coast of Scotland.

Producing Practice

At Rhymes with Purple, we particularly love the weird and wonderful and we aren't afraid to take chances with the projects we manage. Rhymes with Purple is a team made up of a diverse group led by a person with a 'hidden' disability and we aim to champion inclusivity and access to all aspects of the Arts in our projects. We're always delighted to work with LGBTQIA+ artsts and those who may face barriers to participation in the arts due to class and cultural background, race, or physical ability.
