Louise is a writer, producer, occasional actor from Glasgow. As a screenwriter she’s been developed with Short Circuit, Screen Scotland’s talent development initiative, and with the Edinburgh International Film Festival (Script Starter 2022). Her theatre work has been supported by the Tron Theatre, Assembly Festival, Glasgay! Festival, The Arches, National Theatre of Scotland, The Tank Theater (NYC) and Lyth Arts Centre. In March 2023 Louise co-founded Bar Italia Films and co-wrote / produced short film “In The Room” (Creative Scotland / Blazing Griffin). She is also the co-founder of the Persistent and Nasty podcast and creative activism initiative, an Associate Producer with Edinburgh based production company Civil Disobedience and the producer of the Paisley Book Festival. Her work is feminist, queer-leaning, genre-loving, occasionally provocative and often darkly comedic.

Producing Practice
As an interdisciplinary creator working across projects in both theatre and film, I am committed to platforming narratives that challenge norms, inspire a playful perspective and entertain.. My approach as a producer is rooted in collaboration, feminism, and in the pursuit of innovation.
Collaboration lies at the heart of my creative process. I believe in the power of collective intelligence, where diverse voices converge to craft stories that resonate universally. Through fostering an environment of open dialogue and mutual respect, I aim to cultivate projects that reflect on social and political issues, are fun and welcoming and offer an alternate perspective.
As a feminist producer, I am dedicated to dismantling patriarchal structures within the industry and amplifying marginalised voices. I strive to create opportunities for women and underrepresented groups on stage and in front of and behind the camera.
I enjoy working with artists and on projects that subvert genres and challenge archaic notions of form and tone. I am constantly looking to push the boundaries of traditional storytelling to uncover new modes of expression. Whether it's experimenting with nonlinear narratives, immersive experiences, or interdisciplinary approaches, I seek to challenge audiences to see the world through a different lens.
Above all, I prioritise the well-being, diversity, and equality of all individuals involved in my practice. From pre-production to post-project evaluation, I am committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity, where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives.
In essence, my producer's ethos is guided by a steadfast belief in the transformative power of art. I strive to create work that not only entertains but sparks meaningful dialogue and drives social change.

Given my interdisciplinary approach as a producer, writer, and performer, the most fruitful collaborations will be with artists and producers who share a commitment to inclusivity and pushing the boundaries of traditional storytelling. I seek out creative relationships with filmmakers, theatre practitioners, and writers who are passionate about addressing feminist, social, and environmental themes, particularly those with expertise in community engagement, well-being, and inclusivity practices. I am also keen to build relationships with professionals in the commercial producing sector. I believe that exchanging insights into alternative financial models and finding new strategies for growth in the current climate is vital to the long-term sustainability of the creative industries.
